Well looking at my more than ready to plant, bare garden it finally got the best of me and we made a trip to Glover Nursery. I have never been there before and it's a little bit of a drive, but it was a neat place. I was almost overwhelmed with the selection of different flowers, shrubs, trees, rose bushes, topiary's,etc. The only bummer was they didn't have the biggest selection of veggies. We wanted to get some watermelon or cantaloupe but they won't have any until next week. We were able to get tomatoes and peppers and will get the rest in the weeks to come. I really want to plant asparagus.
I immediately started playing in the dirt. I have some before and after shots for you.
I am kind of excited to see what will happen with one plant in particular this year. It's a Tabasco pepper plant that we planted last year, yes last year. One thing about these plants, they do not produce until very late in the summer, almost fall. I decided I wasn't going to destroy a perfectly good plant and transplanted it to a pot to keep inside during winter. It thrived inside and grew so big. We re-planted it in the garden to see how it would do and if it would produce again. I hope it does! Before it gets too cold, I will be bringing it indoors again to repeat the cycle.
I really want to try starting my own plants from seeds, if anyone has advice, please let me know.
Here I am doing some last minute maintenance. Notice my strawberries, 3 years and I still haven't had a decent crop to make jam!
Here's the before
The huge Tabasco plant before going back in the ground
And the after, doesn't look like much but just wait!

Good for you!!! If you start straight from seeds you have to plant the seeds in like marchish and start them in the house so that they are a decent size to go in the garden. We have done this a few times when I am ambicious in March!
