What's New

I can tell you that not much is new with us. I read other blogs of family and friends and they always seem to have news or funny stories to share, then I start to think I need some news or something funny, but alas I come up empty handed. I'm not the best writer even for being a published poet, hey maybe that could be news? Probably not because it was back in 7th grade and I do not have possession of the book.
See what I mean? I will stick with what I know...for now, but maybe one day I will have some fabulous breaking news for you all.
Thanksgiving weekend was really nice. We drove to Fillmore to have dinner at Ryan's Dads house. I love everything about going down there, the drive, the fresh air, the small town and visiting his Dad and Step mom Dixie.
Dinner was perfect, we helped out not only by eating but also by making our very own homemade carmel apple pie. Ryan and I both made it and I have to say it turned out better than I thought! Ryan's sister Ashley and her husband, David made two cheesecakes. I was told it was a competition to see who's turned out better, but I think they both turned out great. Ashley's was as big as Mt. Rushmore.
The kids had fun playing flag football with their cousins and uncles and the rest of us stayed inside where it was warm and just chatted. It was a great day.
That same weekend on Sunday I had my younger brother and his family as well as my sister-in-law Gina and her two kids, (they are visiting from Washington state while my older brother is out to sea for the Navy) over for breakfast. It was great to have all my nephews and one niece over at the same time.
So that's it for the moment. I love this time of year. I love the snow, the Christmas trees and all the lights. Plus all the family that we get to see every year, I wish the Christmas season would last two more months!!!
Hope everyone is enjoying their Holiday Season!!!

Here is the best part of the weekend I failed to mention in my story above, Ryan put all the kids to work to help me out while I'm working on a "project". I love this!!!!
