Ryan's birthday was Sunday November 15th and I, as usual want to do something for his big day. Keep in mind every year he tells me he doesn't want me to do anything. He should know by now that I never listen. I wanted just us to get away from everything, computers, work, just life in general. I really wanted to go snowmobiling but of course there was nowhere near enough snow so that idea was out but I was going to make the most of it anyhow. So we packed our bags and left Friday the 13th. We took Legacy Hwy, which I am very impressed. It almost felt like we were out of state because it looks so different from I-15. It's a stretch, but hey it was our vacation! Friday night we went to the local store to buy things for dinner, went back to the room, relaxed, ate and watched "Step Brothers". If you haven't seen it, don't waste your time. With a few funny parts it didn't make up for the rest of the Dumb, Dumb, Dumb parts! Well we woke up Saturday morning and it was partly cloudy with a trace of fresh snow on the ground. It was beautiful! The weather looked good enough so we made breakfast and went on a drive. Pineview Reservoir is about 2 miles from where we stayed. This has to be one of my favorite places ever. When I was younger my family would have boating get together's here and it has always been very special to me. Plus we have been able to take the kids boating here and have a lot of fond memories. I have never been here during winter and it's just as amazing. We went to an outlook point from Huntsville, this is where most of my pictures came from. I love the houses over looking the water. While we were there the weather started to get worse so we left and drove to a Catholic Monastery that came recommended by our hotel. I guess the Monks are famous for their honey. It was a different experience for sure. I was a bit nervous because as first it seems like you are an intruder, but once we were in the tiny store the Father and the Monk running the register made you feel so welcome. They invited us to stay for the chanting and prayer service. We decided not to do that, but poked around the chapel for a bit and just enjoyed something new. Plus the Father made us feel guilty for leaving without any honey, so we had to buy some. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks good! Saturday night we went to a local pub and grill, the Double Diamond for dinner. The pizza was amazing and the atmosphere was great. We watched the Utes get their behinds handed to them by TCU, but had a nice evening anyway. It was a very nice weekend and we definitely were able to relax and enjoyed "getting away". I can't wait for next year when I'm not supposed to do anything, but will anyway!

That sounds like such a nice relaxing weekend. Happy Birthday to Ryan!
